Get Support:
For Family Caregivers

Why should I involve Community Hospice?

Nothing can be more challenging or rewarding than caring for a seriously ill loved one – and everyone needs help. However, family caregivers sometimes feel hesitant in reaching out for help. They may feel they should be able to care for a loved on their own or fear that their loved one will think they are giving up on them. They may fear that hospice will come in and try to take over or tell them what to do or not do. Or they may simply be uncomfortable having strangers in their homes at such a deeply personal time in their lives.

Patients and family members who have experienced the services of Community Hospice in the past will tell you that these types of fears were quickly overcome after meeting with and beginning to receive the support from the Community Hospice care team. We are there to support your family and your wishes, and we are deeply respectful of your privacy and personal preferences. Family members tell us that getting Community Hospice involved in the care of their loved one was one of the most loving things they could have done.

When your loved one is enrolled in a program of care, you can expect regular visits by our skilled nurses, certified nursing assistants, and social service professionals, as well as trained volunteers and spiritual counselors, if requested.
