What are some of the opportunities available for volunteers?

As a Community Hospice of Northeast Florida volunteer, you can do many things. Hold a hand. Use a computer. Address envelopes. Make a speech. Bake a cake. Ring up a sale. Listen to cherished memories. Give a hug. Touch a heart. Change a life – maybe even your own.

Here are some of the ways you can help improve the quality of life for people in our community as a Community Hospice volunteer:

Administrative opportunities:

• Assisting with bulk mailings
• Working at the Community Hospice Thrift Shop
• Assisting with clerical and general office needs
• Greeting visitors at our inpatient facilities

Direct patient care opportunities:

• Providing emotional support to patients and families
• Serving as an interpreter
• Offering bereavement/spiritual care
• Providing transportation or running errands
• Visiting patients in nursing or assisted living facilities
• Providing respite for caregivers
