Latest News: Community Hospice Names Beverly Pascoe Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel JACKSONVILLE, Florida - Community Hospice of Northeast Florida has hired Beverly Pascoe as chief compliance officer and general counsel.
In her role as chief compliance officer, Pascoe directs and manages all aspects of corporate compliance for the nonprofit organization. Additionally, she advises the president and CEO and Community Hospice Board of Directors about regulatory compliance issues. Pascoe also serves as general counsel for the organization.
Prior to joining Community Hospice, Pascoe was an associate attorney with the law firm of Rogers Towers, P.A. in Jacksonville. With a specialty practice in health care law, she conducted compliance reviews, drafted compliance work plans and ensured that professional and facility licenses met state regulations. Prior to becoming an attorney, Pascoe was Chief Operating Officer for Mission:Health, an organization that contracted with HMOs to provide health care services to members on a risk basis. She had executive and operational responsibility for the organization, including customer service, contracting, reimbursement, claims processing, medical management and quality improvement.
Pascoe received her law degree (J.D.) from the University of Florida College of Law. Along with a bachelor’s degree in health sciences from the University of Florida, she holds two master’s degrees in Business Administration and Health Services Administration from the same university. She is a member of the Florida Bar Association, the American Health Lawyers Association, the Florida Academy of Healthcare Attorneys, and chairs the Health Law Section for the Jacksonville Bar Association. She is also a member of the Health Care Compliance Association.
Pascoe’s background includes direct patient care experience. As a licensed occupational therapist, she specialized in working with patients suffering from spinal cord injuries, strokes and head injuries. She is a native Floridian and lives on Jacksonville’s Southside with her daughter who attends Stanton College Preparatory School.
Established in 1979 as the first hospice program in Northeast Florida, Community Hospice of Northeast Florida helps nearly 1,000 patients live better with advanced illness each day in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties, through the support of more than 700 employees and nearly 900 volunteers. The nonprofit organization has served more than 48,000 children and adults—at home, in long term care facilities, hospitals and through four inpatient centers throughout Jacksonville. Community Hospice Foundation generates philanthropic and community support for unfunded and under-funded programs, including indigent hospice care, Community PedsCare, a pediatric palliative and hospice program, and the programs and services of the Charles M.
