Archived News: Community Hospice Welcomes New communications Director ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida - Community Hospice of Northeast Florida announced today that Kathy McIlvaine has been hired as director of communications. In this role, she will be responsible for directing and managing all internal and external public relations and strategic marketing programs for the organization. "Commitment to our community and excellence in the service we provide have always been top-priority at Community Hospice," said Susan Ponder-Stansel, president and CEO of Community Hospice. "Kathy has an outstanding record of accomplishment managing marketing and communications strategies for a variety of organizations, and we expect she will contribute significantly in our ongoing efforts to enhance community awareness and understanding of quality end-of-life care." A recent addition to the Jacksonville community, McIlvaine brings more than 18 years of experience, working in both consumer and business-to-business markets within the technology and service industries. Previously, McIlvaine was director of communications and education for a New York-based information technology consulting firm where she managed all corporate and internal communications, as well as internal training and development. She also spent more than four years as a vice president with Brodeur Worldwide, a global PR agency focused on the technology and healthcare industries. Prior to this, she worked in both marketing and communications for companies including Gartner, Inc. and IBM Corporation. McIlvaine earned a BS in Communications from Pace University in Pleasantville, New York where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She currently serves on the board of the First Coast chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). McIlvaine and her husband reside in the Southside/Avenues area of Jacksonville. Established in 1979 as the first hospice program in the area, Community Hospice of Northeast Florida has served more than 34,000 children and adults at home, in long-term care facilities, hospitals and at The Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring in Mandarin and The George and Margaret Morris Center for Caring on the Northside.
