DeAnn Collins named Executive Director of Community Hospice Foundation

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Community Hospice of Northeast Florida has named DeAnn Collins vice president of philanthropy and executive director of Community Hospice Foundation. She succeeds Jane Jordan who is leaving to launch a new consulting practice.

Collins joined Community Hospice in 2004 as associate executive director of the Foundation. Prior to joining Community Hospice, she served as Episcopal High School's director of development for 13 years. Collins has been an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) since 1991. She is also a sustaining member of the Junior League and serves as a board member for Building Resources for AIDS Education, Prevention and Support (brAIDS) and for the Planned Giving Counsel.

"I am very pleased to announce DeAnn's expanded role with the Foundation," said Susan Ponder-Stansel, Community Hospice president and CEO. "We are also fortunate in continuing to benefit from Jane's counsel and expertise as she has agreed to remain with us in a consulting capacity. I look forward to continuing to work with both of these talented professionals in building philanthropic support for our efforts to improve the quality of life for patients and families and to be the compassionate guide for end-of-life care in our community."

Collins earned a bachelor of science in marketing and computer information systems from Kansas State University in 1986 and was credentialed as a certified fund raising executive (CFRE) in 1996. She resides in Magnolia Point in Green Cove Springs with her husband.

Established in 1979 as the first hospice program in northeast Florida, Community Hospice of Northeast Florida provides compassionate care to nearly 1,000 patients daily in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties, through the support of more than 700 employees and 1,100 volunteers. The nonprofit organization has served more than 38,000 children and adults—at home, in long-term care facilities, hospitals and through its two inpatient facilities in Jacksonville. Community Hospice Foundation generates philanthropic and community support for unfunded and under-funded programs, including indigent hospice care, programs and services through the Charles M. Neviaser Educational Institute, and Community PedsCare, a pediatric palliative and hospice program. Care is available to all patients who need it, regardless of their ability to pay.
