Latest News: Community Hospice Names New Board Members and the 2010 Slate of Officers Jacksonville, Fla. – Community Hospice of Northeast Florida announces the addition of three new members to its board of directors: Martha Lanahan, Rabbi Joshua Lief, Josh McGraw and Rev. Robert Morris.
Martha “Marty” Lanahan currently serves as the North Florida Area President and Jacksonville City President for Regions Bank, where she oversees the development of all business lines from Jacksonville to Pensacola. Her banking career began with The Atlantic Bank/First Union Bank after graduating from the University of South Carolina, where she earned a degree in finance.
An active member of the Jacksonville community, Lanahan has been involved with numerous non-profit organizations and currently serves on the boards of the Florida Transportation Commission and Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville, as well as on the Board of Governors of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Lanahan has two sons and resides in the San Marco area.
Rabbi Joshua B. Lief is the Senior Rabbi of the historic Congregation Ahavath Chesed on San Jose Boulevard. He is a graduate of Princeton University where he earned a degree in history. Rabbi Lief attended the Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion. After living in Jerusalem for the first year of seminary, he completed his studies at the HUC–JIR campus in Cincinnati, where he was ordained as a rabbi in May 2003. Prior to moving to Jacksonville, he served as the rabbi of Mizpah Congregation in Chattanooga, Tenn. He is a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the Downtown Rotary Club, a graduate of the Leadership Jacksonville New Leadership Summit, and serves on the boards of the Jacksonville Community Council, Inc., and the interfaith organization OneJax. He and his wife Rebecca live in Jacksonville’s San Jose area. Josh McGraw is president of the Donald C. McGraw Foundation and formerly served as regional vice president of Clear Channel Television and president of Clear Channel Jacksonville. He is the past chairman of the Florida Association of Broadcasters.
McGraw currently serves on the boards of the Mayo Clinic Jacksonville Leadership Council and the Jacksonville Zoo.
In 2007, a gift from the Donald C. McGraw Foundation helped Community Hospice build the Anne and Donald McGraw Center for Caring on the campus of the Mayo Clinic.
McGraw and his wife Sacha have two children and reside in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
The Rev. Robert L. Morris has been the associate rector at Christ Episcopal Church in Ponte Vedra Beach since 2004. He earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting from West Virginia University and a Master of Divinity degree from The General Theological Seminary in New York City. He was ordained in the Diocese of West Virginia in 1973, and has served in churches in West Virginia, England, Scotland, Pennsylvania and Texas.
He and his wife Cathleen have two grown daughters and reside in Ponte Vedra Beach.
The board also selected officers for 2010:
James R. Burkhart, President and Administrator for Shands Hospital, will serve as chairman. Vice chairs will be Joe Mitrick, Administrator for Baptist Medical Center Downtown, and Scott S. Cairns of McGuireWoods LLP. Barbara Cone, will serve as secretary, and John W. Logue, Director of St. Vincent’s Spirituality Center, will serve as treasurer.
