Latest News: Sherry Hogan Named Associate Executive Director of Community Hospice Foundation JACKSONVILLE, Florida - Community Hospice Foundation has promoted Sherry Hogan to associate executive director. She previously served as director of development of the Foundation, which is the philanthropic arm of Community Hospice of Northeast Florida. As associate executive director, Hogan is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive program for raising community philanthropic support, as well as overseeing Community Hospice Foundation activities through direct management of the Foundations’ development, donor services and thrift shop teams. Prior to joining Community Hospice Foundation in 2006, Hogan served for five years as the director of development for the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville and prior to that, she worked for twenty years in sales and client management in a variety of industries. Hogan’s community service activities include volunteering as a Guardian Ad Litem and board positions on the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Murray Hill Preservation Association. She has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Wellesley College and resides in Jacksonville’s Murray Hill with her husband. “Sherry is a tremendous asset to our organization. She has demonstrated her commitment and dedication to Community Hospice’s mission to improve the quality of life for patients and families and to be the compassionate guide for end-of-life care in our community,” said DeAnn Collins, Community Hospice Foundation executive director and vice president of philanthropy. “Sherry is playing a vital role in helping Community Hospice generate philanthropic support. She is very effective helping donors and prospective donors understand the crucial impact they have in maintaining our mission,” Collins stated.
Established in 1979 as the first hospice program in Northeast Florida, Community Hospice of Northeast Florida helps nearly 1,000 patients live better with advanced illness each day in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties, through the support of more than 700 employees and nearly 900 volunteers. The nonprofit organization has served more than 48,000 children and adults—at home, in long term care facilities, hospitals and through four inpatient centers throughout Jacksonville. Community Hospice Foundation generates philanthropic and community support for unfunded and under-funded programs, including indigent hospice care, Community PedsCare, a pediatric palliative and hospice program, and the programs and services of the Charles M. Neviaser Educational Institute. Care is available to all patients who need it, regardless of their ability to pay. ###
