The mission of Community Hospice of Northeast Florida is to improve the quality of life for patients and families and be the compassionate guide for end-of-life care in our community.

What can I do as an individual to support improved quality of life at the end of life?

Your neighbor, the supermarket cashier, your child's teacher – any one of these people may know or love someone facing a life-limiting illness and living without the specialized care they need and deserve. The sad truth is that they probably don't know that high quality help is available or they don't believe death is near enough to call on Community Hospice. Patients have pain and symptoms that are treatable; caregivers have burdens that can be lightened; and families have tough decisions that can be made easier, but only if they know help is available.

This can change, and you can change it.

Start by talking openly with friends and family about end-of-life issues. Arrange for a Community Hospice speaker to address your organization. Encourage everyone you know to complete advance directives. Volunteer to run errands for families with seriously ill loved ones. Make a donation.

The more area residents know about end-of-life issues, the better the quality of life will be for everyone in Northeast Florida. This is your community and it's your Community Hospice. We're working to change minds and lives. Please join us.
