A Lasting Gift to Our Community. Help us Build the Community Hospice
About Community Hospice Care Founded 30 years ago by community volunteers, clergy and nurses, Community Hospice of Northeast Florida is now one of the largest hospice programs in the country with a staff of 700 – and even more volunteers. Each day, we provide loving care to nearly 1,000 adults and children, regardless of their ability to pay. Caring in St. Augustine Community Hospice has cared for patients in St. Augustine and St. Johns County since 1979, establishing an outreach office there in 1985. Currently an average of 125 St. Johns County patients receive our care each day. Although a growing number of patients require the specialized care that can only be provided in an inpatient environment, today there is no dedicated hospice inpatient facility available in St. Johns County. This presents a hardship for families who must travel for this level of care. The $5 million Community of Care Campaign for the Bailey Family Center for Caring is raising the philanthropic support needed to fund the construction of a dedicated Community Hospice inpatient center on the campus of Flagler Hospital. |
