As associate medical director of Community PedsCare, Dr. Kelly C. Komatz provides medical oversight of the interdisciplinary team who address the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of both patient and family throughout the child’s illness. She serves as a consultant to the patients’ primary care physicians in the community.
Dr. Komatz is an assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville, and is board certified in pediatrics. She also is board certified in the medical subspecialty of Hospice and Palliative Medicine through the American Board of Pediatrics. This certification indicates a special knowledge and skills to prevent and relieve the pain and suffering experienced by patients with life-limiting illnesses.
Dr. Komatz is a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She recently was selected as a Fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She has been with Community PedsCare for six years, and has served in Jacksonville as a pediatrician since 1991.
