Jacksonville, Fla. – “I got a fish!” Community PedsCare patient Laura Monger screamed with glee as she and Bolles high school teens Kate Anderson and Andriana Bove helped reel in her catch at the Diamond D Ranch pond.
Saturday, April 9, was a special day for Laura and other children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their siblings. More than 30 families in Community PedsCare, the pediatric hospice and palliative care program of Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, were treated to hayrides, pony rides, fishing, bounce house fun, arts and crafts, and a barbeque lunch—all courtesy of 57 teens from 17 local high schools.
